نوشتن برای محمود کیانوش در حقیقت بهانهٔ ادامهٔ حیات بود و بخصوص در سال های آخر زندگی اش با وجود مریض احوالی وابستگی او به نوشتن برای زنده ماندن با تعهدی اجتماعی برای آگاه کردن توام شده بود
یک سال قبل در چنین روزی محمود کیانوش، شاعر، نویسنده، منتقد ادبی، روزنامه نگار و نویسنده و گویندهٔ رادیو درگذشت. کیانوش از دوران دبیرستان شعر گفتن و داستان نویسی را شروع کرد و تا سن ۸۷ سالگی که چشم از جهان فروبست هرگز از نوشتن دست نکشید.

For Mahmoud Kianoosh, writing was in fact an excuse to continue living, and especially in the last years of his life, despite his illness, his dependence on writing to survive was accompanied by a social obligation to inform.
A year ago, on this day [12 Jan 2021], Mahmoud Kianoosh, a poet, writer, literary critic, journalist, writer and radio announcer, died. Kianoosh started writing poetry and writing stories in high school, and never stopped writing until he was 87 years old.
For Mahmoud Kianoosh, writing was in fact an excuse to continue living, and especially in the last years of his life, despite his illness, his dependence on writing to survive was accompanied by a social obligation to inform, and for this reason he found himself in a time constraint. And he did not allow "wasting time" and wrote and wrote.
